Rebecca is a textile artist and designer.
Rebecca’s mixed media textiles practice works across hand stitch, embroidery, free motion machine stitch, latch hook and punch needle, and includes working with illustration, painting and collage. Rebecca is passionate about making work that raises awareness of social issues, and is an advocate for a greater understanding of domestic abuse, and the empowerment of women affected by it. Working from the heart and connecting to her own life experiences, she uses her creative practice to tell her story and to give a voice to the stories of others, contributing to the movement for gender equality and social change.

Rebecca was one of 14 artists selected to produce a participatory, drop-in workshop for a public audience at In:Site 2024. Exploring the theme of care, their workshop developed and incorporated the ideas, techniques, approaches and materials used in their own practice.

Inspired by the protest banner and its rich history in the women’s rights movement, Rebecca made a collaborative banner using a variety of textiles techniques. You’ve Done the Right Thing incorporated messages of care, comfort and encouragement to women working through challenges and making positive changes in their lives.
