Katy is an interdisciplinary crafts artist.

Creating objects and jewellery from archival and found materials, Katy’s interdisciplinary practice explores themes of memorial, heirloom, monument and inheritance. Fascinated by the origins of the items she finds at specific locations in London, she seeks to embed a contemporary layer of narrative into them by changing their form, fusing the past and present lives of materials together to create new pieces. Adopting the formal and familiar museum systems for showing and conveying information about historical objects, Katy re-interprets the museum display, the guided walk and the handling collection, engaging people in the blended stories of her artworks.

Katy was one of 14 artists selected to produce a participatory, drop-in workshop for a public audience at In:Site 2024. Exploring the theme of care, their workshop developed and incorporated the ideas, techniques, approaches and materials used in their own practice.
