“Who shall plead that man’s excuse, who steals the common from the goose.”
Taken from a traditional rhyme the goose badge is designed by artist Alice McLean. Artists Alice McLean and Justine Boussard first collaborated at Peckham Rye Common, making a token (on which this badge is based) to commemorate the protection of the Common against encroachment in 1868. The badge captures the spirit of that, and other acts of commoning.
The badge is a hard enamelled pin badge crafted in Birmingham by Fattorini.
