Artist Opportunity: Shelanu New Collection

We are looking to recruit an experienced artist who works in jewellery or adornment to support Shelanu to collectively design and make a new range.

Fee: £2250 plus materials and budget for digital processes.
When: Wednesdays, 9 days over 3 months between April – July 2022.
Where: Craftspace office in Birmingham.
Deadline for applications: Monday 14 March, 5pm.

Summary

The work will reflect the diversity of the Collective through exploring and sharing the member’s memories, cultural backgrounds and celebrations, highlighting universal beliefs and common ground.

You will guide members through design and technical processes to produce a commercial batch produced range.

Location and Timing

9 sessions to take place on Wednesdays between April and July 2022 on dates to be determined.

The activity will take place in the Shelanu workshops and Craftspace meeting room at Craftspace’s office in Highgate, Birmingham, (Covid restrictions allowing).

Fees and eligibility

You will be paid a fee of £2250 which includes VAT.

This role is open to experienced makers. Black and ethnic minority people and people identifying as disabled are underrepresented in the arts workforce. We particularly welcome applications from these groups.
