Practical costume making workshop

How can the lgbtqia+ community use our contemporary & historic queer crafting skills to respond to the climate emergency?

Experts from Birmingham City University’s School of Fashion and Textiles will support you to make costumes, headwear and accessories using recycled materials. In this session, participants from a previous workshop will continue to work on their costumes. New participants will work on headwear or an accessory to wear to Pride Parade. All are invited to join our walking group at the Birmingham Pride Parade on Saturday 27th May to promote ‘planet-kind’ drag that will help make a difference to climate change.

All welcome, no creative experience required, materials, tools and refreshments provided. You can bring along a garment or a prop to customise if you like.

Saturday 20th May, 10am – 1pm.

Venue: Birmingham City University, Dept of Fashion & Textiles, The Parkside Building.
