Shelanu Keyring and Badge Workshop for Celebrating Sanctuary

Join Shelanu for a free drop-in fabric keyring and badge workshop at the Midlands Art Centre.

Choose off-cuts of a Birmingham map from 1835 symbolising a new home and welcome, and/or fabric with colours that represent your country of origin.

Refugee Week theme this year is “Our Home”. From the places we gather to share meals to our collective home, planet earth: everyone is invited to celebrate what our Our Home means to them.

Celebrating Sanctuary 

This year’s festival will bring music and arts from around the world, showcasing the work of highly acclaimed refugee and migrant artists, plus refugee and community groups. With live music, information stalls, arts and crafts and workshops we promise you will leave happier and more inspired than when you arrived.

Bringing people together to celebrate and experience the culture, arts and stories of refugees and migrant communities through a universal appreciation of music, joy and life.
