These robust, beautifully finished candle holders, created using tea, oranges, mussel shells, and egg shells, are designed for easy disassembly, allowing all components to biodegrade or be recycled. Please see the Product Gallery below for the available variations.
By diverting nutrient-rich waste from landfills, Natalie’s work transforms ‘waste’ into useful, beautiful objects that can ultimately feed nutrients back into the soil, closing the loop in the circular economy.
Natalie’s work focuses on the circular economy, developing biodegradable materials from agricultural and food waste. Her craft-based approach explores open-source recipes for new materials, analysing their properties and production processes.
You can find more of Natalie’s work in our upcoming Made in the Middle exhibition, launching at Leicester Gallery, de Montford University, on 25 January 2025.
