Katie Smith, a ceramic artist, hand-builds precarious organic vessels using a research-through-practice approach. Her work captures bodily movements and natural inspirations, emphasising the human-nature connection. Concepts of maximalism and ornate surfaces are central to her works, inspired by folk crafts, the human body, and our relationship to the world.
