This Saturday Matinee is a relaxed performance. We particularly welcome families or anyone who would benefit from this type of environment. You can watch a video of Carrie’s performance on the project page if you would like to know more about what to expect or contact us for more details.
A spellbinding performance with fire, live and electronic music and glass blowing.
In this unusual collaboration Carrie Fertig makes instruments using a process of flameworking with fire. Together with premade instruments these are played by her and the musicians combined with electronic and digitally manipulated sound.
The performance is one hour long and is not seated, audiences may move around and experience the performance from different angles. After each performance the audience will have the opportunity to handle and play the instruments. On Saturday evening there will also be an informal question and answer session with the artists after the performance .
Audiences experiencing the performance have described it as “mesmerizing”, “tribal”, “trance-inducing”, “spiritual”, “mystical”.
