Project SummaryProsiect Crefftau’r Gororau
TransBorder Crafts - Prosiect Crefftau’r Gororau is the research and development or pilot phase of a larger scale two year crafts development project to investigate, re-appraise, identify, debate and then promote the current state and definition of crafts practice in rural areas. It seeks to explore the relationship of rural crafts practice to audiences, consumers and the environment. It will do this by actively engaging local makers (indigenous and others), curators, venues and their local communities in creative and participatory exchanges arising from conversations and links between historical/traditional and contemporary craft practices.
A rural crafts development project led by Craftspace Touring in partnership with Oriel Davies Gallery in Newtown, Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery and Qube in Oswestry.
